Every year, all tournament proceeds go to the Jan Henrick Achievement Award Fund, which recognizes students from Plant City, Wharton, and Pasco High Schools for their hard work and achievements during the school year. Faculty members choose 12 students from each school to receive the award. The selected students have turned their lives around in some way during the school year—whether through improved grades, better attendance, or an overall positive attitude—even when faced with adversity.
